Easy control for your alarm system

Enjoy greater ease of mind while you’re away from home: The Magenta SmartHome Keypad app allows you to use the most important security functions of Magenta SmartHome even without having to access the main Magenta SmartHome app. So people you trust – such as your neighbors, friends and family – can temporarily deactivate the alarm system to water the plants, feed pets or just make sure everything is okay. The SmartHome Keypad App is also great for letting the housekeeper or your own children deactivate the Magenta SmartHome alarm system whenever they enter the house. The advantage: All these people can use the simple Keypad app rather than the full Magenta SmartHome app with its multitude of functionalities – yet they can’t change the settings of your networked home.

The SmartHome Keypad app gives you access to the following functions: Switch between the status “At Home” and the status “Away,” as well as activating or deactivating the alarm system. With the tap of a finger you can turn on your alarm system as you leave home and activate the “Housesitter” function – this controls objects connected with Magenta SmartHome like lights and speakers in order to simulate your presence.

The Keypad app has to be connected to the same WiFi network used by your Magenta SmartHome system in order to work. Each action taken must also be verified by six-digit PIN set beforehand in the Magenta SmartHome app.

Important prerequisites:
The Magenta SmartHome Keypad app is an extension for your Magenta SmartHome app – it cannot be used without the Magenta SmartHome system. The Keypad app enables the control of important security functions without needing the full Magenta SmartHome app.

An Apple device with an operating system version 7.1 is required to use the Magenta SmartHome Keypad app.
